As some of you may already know, the annual Keighley & Airedale business awards takes place in June each year to give some recognition to the diverse range of businesses we have in Keighley and the surrounding areas. The awards encompass a wide range of categories, and as a company Rooms' decided that this year we would try our luck and enter into the 'Independent Retailer of the Year' award in a hope that we might have a chance of winning. We felt that our development of the store in recent years to expand the showroom size and become more of a destination store for the Keighley area would give us a chance of the clinching prize, and it seems that we were right...as we WON!

Presented by Harry Gration from Look North fame, we were delighted to receive the accolade of the best Independent business in the area, as it means all of our hard work has paid off. But most importantly, we couldn't of done any of it without our fantastic customers base who have visited us throughout the years and as the shop has grown. Whether you have bought a gift, bed, sofa, pictures or more, we value your custom and would like to thankyou for choosing to shop at Rooms! Our award will be taking pride of place on our counter, so see if any of you can spot it the next time you bob in!

Other worthy winners on the night included Snugpak, who manufacture sleeping bags and insulated clothing all around Europe which helped them claim the Large Business of the year award; and charity One in a million stood out too, as they were awarded for helping to improve the health, wellbeing and life opportunities to children in Keighley & Bradford area. All in all it was a fantastic night and we were very proud to be part of the awards; in the future we are looking forward to improving the store even more in the coming year with our upcoming extension and providing something unique for the Keighley area.
